So, I tried to use a loophole today and failed.. the 76 hasn't been registered by me since i bought it... I just did the new title thing... anyway I was either going to get collector car insurance or register in the Boonies... I go to two third party MVDs and the first one just said they couldn't do it.. the second one said that since the car at one point didn't pass emissions, it needs to pass it again before anything else... the registering out of the county nor the collector car would save it...

So then, the tailpipes, from what I understand, have to be out the back or out the side.. fail.. they are cut at the axle... I think 76 should have cats.. fail..3 inch no cats.. EGR..lol..

I should just register it in California....

Edit:: just found out California closed the rolling window at 75..this POS is a 76 DOH!

safado...well that's all good to hear. Okay not so much. I have been wondering about my future registration as well. I am thinking classic will get me there.

I look forward to meeting all the Desert guys in the future...okay maybe not all of you ;) ...I've had two Mavericks in my life...had a 1931 5 Window couple 10 years ago and now a '66 Mustang...still have never had as much fun as when I owned my Mavericks. That's why the Mustang is getting dumped soon (everyone owns those damn things) and I am coming home.

    Drive safe!

Safado...flex pipe is your friend! And don't spend a ton on the cat...just find a cheap one. There are several companies that sell them as replacements that are not as expensive as oem.

I don't think that they know what to look for on a visual. They can't know what all cars had from the factory. Most of them were very helpful when I couldn't get my 73 Dodge to pass.

Need the evap canister with hoses run up to the air cleaner, cat and egr to pass visual in AZ. Smog nazis failed me last year for factory cardboard tube from canister that had a piece of tape sealing it to the air cleaner on my '75:rolleyes:

So as a last hurra, I go out to prescott... I was going to JG sales to look at some toys... swung by the DMV out there... I **** you not I now have a plate with 2years worth of regustration... I have a feeling I will get something in the mail revoking it or something, but never said anything about emissions... so for now at least I can roll in the Comet!

I deliver Barros Pizza in your area on Monday and Friday night. If you ever see a flat black Fox body with a Barros pizza sign say hi or wave or something.
