1972 Maverick Grabber Resto/Mod for my Dad

I like the door handles. Are you happy with them? Fit, finish and function? I bought them too, but it will be a while before I put them on the car.

 

I do like them. The only thing I wish was that they would have all the parts to install them without have to use parts from the original set. Because I wanted all new parts I ended up using parts off of a Scott Drake set.

Overall fit and finish was very nice. The seals that come with them are much nicer that any of the OEM seals that were on the car. I wish all the seal were of the same material and quality.

 

What kind of mirrors are those? Where did you get them? I could use a set like that.

 

They are the sport mirrors that came on a Maverick. This car originally only came with the drivers side. I added the passenger side mirror.

 

You'll find guys that will sell them on the site, or you can look into Mustangs Unlimited and theyre about 250$ for a set. Not sure if they fit exactly the same, but they look identical.

I bought some from a Mustang II - the difference with these is in the angle of the mounting base

 

I was lucky enough to find a set of NOS mirrors for this car. I actually have a spare driver NOS mirror in my stash of parts. When this car is done there is going to be one heck of a sale on nice parts.

 

How could anything dilute that color!

 

Better save them in case you buy another Maverick!!

 

I have looked at a few already and my only excuse is I need to finish this car before spending anymore money on another car. I want one that is donr and that I can drive.

 

Put the headlight adjusters, buckets, rings, and headlights in.

I should have cleaned up the front before taking the pictures. Still polishing out the hood.

 

Did I mention I like that grill?? Yeah...I do.

 

This is like watching someone build a brand new 2014 Maverick
