I wish I had built something like you did here so my car was a bit more mobile - really nice height to work on a car :)

Mocked up the front end to make sure I had proper gaps between the cowl, fenders, hood, and doors. I tacked the cowl in place as a temp, now I need to knock the tack out, epoxy primer the inside of the cowl, reposition about 1/8" from the pass to the driver then seal it up.

I have taken tons of measurements, spoke to a few guys from the forums to confirm my measurements and looks like I am dead on. Confirmed everything today again and will be ordering my front rails from CA Chassiworks next week. Slowly coming along, and its rather exciting seeing the car becoming a "car" again rather than just a shell.

I need to save up some money for the rims and tires to get the proper measurements for the back half kit.

The stock rear wheel well is roughly 11" deep, is that the width you are shooting for on you drawing? What size rear tire will you be running?

That's rim width? Just remember, some tires are actually wider than the rim, and if you want to tuck them inside the quarter panel, you may have to increase that 11".

I think you're getting the front and back confused. The back will be backhalf four link. Cutting the entire floor out and replacing with a full Chassis.

The tire will be about a 13.5 contact patch. I need to buy the Rims and tires before I figure out rear frame widths. L

no by no means do i know for sure but the upper control arms look to be at a low angle. although it looks like the adjustment holes look like they will allow for plenty of adustment.

I'd don't know, but on your drawing, the front and rear frame rails line up with each other, and you have 11" as the dimension from the frame rail to the rocker? :hmmm:

Dave, his frame's outer rails are 52.5" wide. The body shell is quite a bit wider, somewhere around 68 OA width. He'll have to make up the difference with extensions to the body's rocker panels which will give another 7" or so per side for the tire...

It all makes sense, I'm just trying to figure out how it's all going to fit together.

If that becomes the case, it will be interesting to see how the doors would fit to the extended rockers

I should let Levi respond, but the door/factory rocker relationship is untouched. There will be a rather obvious difference in width between the outer edge of his frame rails and the inner edge of the factory rockers that will need to be made up with "stub" extensions welded between the two. Then there's the added width of the body shell from the inner edge of the rocker to the outer skin at the fender lip...

so after russ's observation of the frame rail width vs the rocker width, has me curious as to lzoesch's decisions for the design.
so lzoesch why are the frame rails not going all the way out to the rocker panels and what are the other considerations on you design?
