I can't take any credit as it was Gary Dagel of Dagels Street Rods that gave me the idea.

    Any updates?

How did you attach your rails to the inside rocker panel?

It really is that simple and I wish I had taken another route so I could remove the body without having to be a contortionist.

It's much easier to weld and paint or powder coat the roll cage if you can remove the body.

What axle length and brand are you going to be running? Like a Cut to length kit of 23.7" - 31.7" long, or a 21.5" to 29.5"?

Are you going 35 spline, or 31 -- I would hope you're not going 28...

Also are you still planning to run 345/30R/19 for the rear?

I have had great luck with Moser Engineering parts over the years and already have their center section with the wave lock posi. The housing will be a full floater with 31 spline axles and drive flanges.

The car will be able to fit up to the 345 but I only want to have two sets of wheels so I'm trying to match wheel and tires sizes carefully so I can cover every form of racing I want to do with the car.

I called Auto Weld today, they said it's gonna be a couple weeks before they bend any more rails. Said they have the pattern for Maverick rails, maybe the one you sent 'em, but if the Mustang rails work, I'll call back and see if they have any in stock, as I'm replacing my trunk floor, too. Thanks for the good intel !

Auto Weld is only about 30 miles from me but I've never been there before - do they have a showroom to visit or is it just for ordering from their catalog - I'm heading that way on Tuesday :)

The Mustang rails they made for me worked out perfect for my application. two things to keep in mind if you use the ones I did.

1 They are not profiled like the factory rails the are straight.

2 You will need to make relief cuts in the floor where the kick up is the back seat.

If you are good with that the Mustang rails will be the ticket and cheeper then the Maverick ones.

Not sure if they do I have never been there. I found out about Auto Weld years ago from a friend that had a business in Danville, Steve's Pro Street. Steve used him to bend the Willys frames he was building.

    Dave,

What is your opinion on N.A.S. bolts? Is it necessary for our applications? I ended up ordering a complete 4 link kit (brackets) and will be getting the hiem joints, and 4130 rod through my family company. With the "complete" kit it recommends N.A.S. bolts -- However, I have spoken to a few people and they said no need, go with Grade 8 Bolts.

I only want to do this once, and I want to be able to upgrade without problems. Should I just go with the N.A.S. bolts and forget about it? Or skimp out and go with Grade 8?

Online N.A.S. bolts are $110-$150, but I was able to find a company who will sell me the N.A.S. bolts, AN washers, and thin nylon nuts for $83 shipped to my house.

    Thoughts?
