    OK guys ....

I am gonna need a radiator, well the top tank is leaking.

The previous owner tried to apply JB weld to a wet seam :hmmm::huh:

I pulled it out today, and its had its share of repairs.

Keeping in mind my future V8 install, I was thinking I might as well go for it now.

I like the idea of keep the stock tanks, and adding a bigger core ... but also an aluminum would be cool too.

What other Fords retro fit into the Mavericks ??

    Where to buy, inexpensively ??

if you have rusty water I would pickup a cheap used one and put in there for now otherwise youre going to flush all of the junk from the old radiator into a clean motor and gunk it all up

good to hear everything is clean (y)
sorry I dont have any idea on specific replacements
I got lucky and the aluminum radiator in my kids grabber was just something I scored from a friend that didnt know what it came out of.
he bought it for his nova only to figure out it was a ford radiator I paid $100 for it

I would say take your radiator to any radiator shop in town and they can either make you one or order you one in whatever size core you want atleast I would think

On which side are the inlet & outlet? The '70 up 302 have a passenger inlet and driver outlet(lower), I believe the 6cyl may both be on passenger side??? Also the earlier 6cyl have smaller hose connections than the V8...

Only vehicle that is same is the 1970 Mustang with 302(maybe 351 as well?), all the the '69-earlier smallblock have a passenger side outlet... With out mods, the Stang big block radiators are too large to fit in a Maverick, all thos have driver outlet regardless of year...

I recently bought a stock one for my Comet, got it at AZ for $149 with free shipping, since I'm gonna use a electric fan should be fine... I'd considered a aluminum but heard enough leak/fitment stories that I wasn't going to trust the Chinese rads(dislike the welded upper tanks anyway) and a Griffin is $533...

    Thanks KC ...

My 200 is the same as the 302 then ... top inlet is offset passenger, and inlet lower is driverside.

I'm assuming the '90 HO engine is the same .... at least the bottom would be nice.

As far as different hose diameters, that is not a problem. I can make that work with hardline, if need be.

So ordering a 70 Stang 302 radiator would be the same as a 302 Maverick ?

I've got a Champion in mine. It's Chinese, and the welded top looks out of place, but on a 105 degree day, in traffic, with the AC cranked, the car never got above 190.

Looks like the '90 MarkII 5.0 has the same inlet/outlet positions as my current set-up.

Griffin makes an aluminum rad, that's a direct fit, but it's not inexpensive, but I'm sure it's worth the extra money. I had my stock rad re-cored, with more cores per square inch and the stock rad.

You can order one for a V8 Maverick/Comet...

I slipped up, my radiator came from O'reillys... The last thing I bought was a Painless Wiring aux fuse panel to power radiator fan, electric choke, ign etc... That came from from AZ... Gotem mixed up...

    http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...Search_radiator_1197301_3976&keyword=radiator

BTW there used to be a three core avail but seem to be discontinued... Those were used in '71 & most of '72 for A/C but for whatever reason Ford went to the two core late in '72, that's what mine had from factory...

If you want to go aluminum, your best bet is probably ebay, that's where I bought my electric fan and shroud...

There have been reports that the squared lower tank on those alu rad can hit the strut rod supports...

    I ordered a factory 302 V-8 radiator for a Maverick. Easy Peazy.

I bought a Ford AFCO aluminum side tank racing radiator for my project but it does not have anything for an automatic transmission cooler and you would have to make new mounts - looks like there are easier options out there for direct fit :)
