Hi guys...My very first Mav and first post on the progress.
I was looking for a jeep and stumbled across the Maverick on craigslist on a thursday. That saturday (although I just knew it was sold) I called and it was still available. I told him I'd be there in an hour.
I grabbed the 13,000 mile original and had the wife drive it home. She blew out a front wheel-cylinder on the way home, making for some hairy off-ramps.(In her defense someone else didnt know how to re-assemble them) I ordered the CSRP disc conversion kit and installed it over the weekend...I tell you guys...this kit ROCKS and is worth EVERY penny ! I bought a '94 Mustang locker rear differential with disc to make it 4-wheel disc I want to install this coming weekend. I have a '94 5.0 w/GT40 heads and a C6 goin in, when the weather warms up a bit.

    welcome.
im not sure if the c6 will fit in the maverick transmission tunnel.
the mustang rear diff is several inches wider than the maverick diff. this will require different offset wheels to fit the rear. also its a 4 link type housing where the maverick is a leaf spring rear. the brackets can be cut off and leaf spring perches can be welded on. the welding will warp the housing tubes and should be straightened to prevent damage to the axles and the differential.

I measured it to make sure the leaf-pads would clear, plus I'm usin "old-school" cragars. i measured the backspace to make sure the tires would clear the leafs! (wheew)and I already bought cut-off wheels for the grinder to remove all the "links" lol. I was reading that the stock tranny wouldn't last long behind the 5.0, plus i wanna be able to leave my "mark" on society at will...lmao Thanks for the imput and welcomes !

...it's not photo-worthy ! I do have a couple of racing-buckets and I just bought tubing for the roll bar (gonna try to do a 6-point to tie the sub-frames together). I will re-surface the dash-pad and probably do a new head liner and have fun !

    I've run C6's behind SBF's, that is a power hungry trans. I'd stick to a C4

The 70 Maverick has the smallest tunnel ever used - that C6 will be a bear to get in there :tiphat:
