So I have a 1970 ford maverick and a 1977 mercury comet parts car, I'm looking to swap the brakes, I have all the instructions on how to do it but I'm wantin your guys opinion because I'm worried about doing this and messing it up. From what I've read I take the spindles and simply swap all the parts and bleed the system but if you guys have any tips or advice that would be amazing :)

P.s. This is the instructions I'm following "http://www.maverick.to/grabber/frontdisc.html"

I believe they should swap over, just pound put the cotter pins, swap the spindles over, replace with NEW cotter pins (important for everything imo) get the brake lines hooked up, and bleed the system. Might be worth mentioning that you may want the disc-drum master cylinder :)

If you use the 70's hardlines you'll have to bend the hardlines slightly at the wheel well, they're not quite the right length. I fabbed new brakets out of slotted angle for where the hardlines and hoses meet. You might have the brackets you need on the donor car.

Is there any DIY forums to install the front brakes because I'm wondering about using an aftermarket brake booster and master cylinder and how to install all of this

You can get the 76 hoses through any auto parts store. On my 70 I used the frame brackets from a disc brake car such as your 76 donor. I cut and re-flared the hard lines to mate with the hoses at the frame bracket.

IF you have a '69½, the tie rods will be too small for the spindle sockets...

I'll guess the original hard line fittings will be a different size at both the M/C and at brake hoses, best bet is swap all the lines... May be able to use adapter(s), but AFAIK there is no adapter from the 9/16" outlet on orig M/C to a smaller size...

I just went through all this on my Comet, but I did use '69 Torino brakes vs later Mav/Comet components... I used a adapter on the rear port of M/C but otherwise cut the original lines, repl fittings with proper size and re-flared...
