Added to Stable

Went & looked at a 74 Comet 4dr this morning. It was listed locally as running, but needs rearend, $100 OBO. I just had to take a look. It turns out to be in really good shape. The body is straight, no rust, 200 cu in, C-4, interior is great (no cracks in dash pad). The right rear axle, has come out about 6". The guy let it run out of gear oil. Luckily I have a 74 Comet GT with a good rearend. The usual tears on the drivers side, of the bench seat. The car is blue on blue with a white vinyl top. Part of the top (L/R) has been taken off. The wife loved it, wants it as a daily driver. I ended up giving the guy $50 for it. I'm waiting for the title (he lost it). When I get it towed home & cleaned up, I'll post pictures. So, add another to the stable....WooHoo!!!! Doesn't get any better than this!!

I don't look for the good deals. They seem to find me....I wasn't looking when I found this car...

You wanted pictures, you got pictures. The wife & I haven't cleaned it up yet. I just got it home this morning, and I already did the title change. I also took the axle out. And low & behold, I had a set of axles in the workshop. I forgot all about them. Enjoy!!!

Got to talking to the tow truck driver. Low and behold, one of the guys has a 71 Comet. I asked him if it was at home? He said it was out back in the storage shop. I wanna see it!!! He took me back to have a look see. He is the original owner, has 45,000 miles on it. The interior & exterior are in excellent shape. Factory 302 car. It needs a grill, but he already has one. It also needs a new vinyl top (burgandy). He can't seem to find the right color, so is going to have to go with black. It will match the interior. Isn't it amazing at what you find, when chatting with people about these cars? Here's some pictures, enjoy!

Man, I would say you about stole that 4 door! Can't believe anyone would let that nice of a car go for so cheap.

That Comet is awesome. I'd kill for one like that. What a shame to let it sit around and collect dust like that.
