    Hey everyone,

    I haven't been on much,just wanted to say hi and let everyone know I'm still out here,been pretty busy workin on my new pull rig ('79 Bronco XLT) I found this pic from last summer's races this mav and my own we're the only two mavs racing here all summer,I don't know a whole lot about it except he's from South Dakota running 6.98 dial 1/8 mile with a 347 stroker,when he launchs he does a pretty impressive wheelstand at least 2'-3' high sorry a bout the pic quality my camera hates me, I also included a pic of my mav I finally got into the 8's this yr whooo hooo!

    I do too!! Cool cars! I see you have a 308, I was wondering what's been done to it? What type of suspension upgrades have you done? Or did you need to do any? Just curious. Congrats on the accomplishments!! Preston

    lets see, my engine302+.040= 308
    74 block using basiclly stock rotating assembly,yes with the low comp. dished pistons:cry: stock oil pump,ford racing windage tray,the heads are HP289 ported&polished 54cc chambers 1.90/1.60 valves scorpion 1.72 roller rockers
    the cam is a wolverine blue racer 288dur. .460 lift on both sides I'm using an Offy 360 intake and a 625 carterAFB jetted to the max with a few other tricks done to it. electric waterpump dive and fan, mallory HY-Fire ignition box with a recurved duraspark dizzy. I run 114 octane Purple Power fuel
    TCI street fighter converter(3000stall)Built C4
    8" rear with 4.62 mini spool turning 26X10 M/T ET DRAGS,
    front suspension is stock 6cyl springs (new from ESPO) with summit 90/10 drag shocks. Rear is new stock 4 leafs(from ESPO) with Cal-Tracs and jobber factory shocks..napa brand I think?

    other mods to the car are
    weld in subframe connectors( thanks Dan! they work awsome)
    battery moved to the trunk
    gutted interior, only thing left is the dash and headliner
    1 plastic seat, 5pt RJS harness
    lift off steel hood
    line loc

    soon to get a 2.5 gl. fuel cell with electric pump and all the other goodies
    6pt cage
    I'm running a 6 grand rev limiter, shifting at 5200 and crossing the line in drive at 5250rpms

    nice pictures. i'm running a 308 also. what do you figure your compression is? mine's 11-1 according to my engine builder. i use vp-110 fuel. that's 107 octane. i've wondered if i should up the octane a bit but don't want to spend more than i need to on fuel.:)

    I'm guessing my comp is pretty low? maybe 9:1, I was using just premium pump 92, but with the new stuff My car runs alot cooler and starts easier it did give me a little more in the top end too. but at 4.95 a gallon not sure if its really needed, oh well

    my best so far is 11.965@115mph in the 1/4. the vp 110 just went up to $5.50. at the track in tucson it's $6.00.:mad:
