Dash Gauge Lights

    I have a 72 Comet..The speedmeter light is out..What is envolved to replace it? I can't see it or even feel it!!!!!!!!!!

    You need to remove the gauge cluster.

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    There is more than one bulb in there. Are they ALL out?

    There are only two bulbs that illuminate the speedo. It is possible to reach the bulb holders with the cluster still in the car if you aren't a big guy, but not very easily. You will feel multiple back there, but those are for indicators and warning lights.

    I rotated the light switch thru the dimming cycle and the lights seem to work now...I guess I have to figure if I can unhook the speedo cable to get the cluster out [just in case] as I am just not as pliable as I used to be..Thanks for the help guys..Seb..
