I took mine out 25 years ago, and I'm not sure what I need. I removed it when I took out the headliner. I found a rectangle chrome plastic frame in my storage. Does it just screw to the top? I think that's all I need, but it seems like it pulls the headliner out of shape like it needs a spacer. Might not even be for a maverick. Mine never had a lense, and always had an 1156 bulb in it, very bright! Any pictures?
Apparently, there are TWO different dome lamps available for the 71 model year. My car was built in September 1970, and has the earlier (before 6/1/71) style with a round bulb. The later style lamps had the cylindrical bulb and were the same from 6/1/71 until the end of the run in 77. Mines early then. That's all I need, no other bracket or spacer? I'll go ahead and screw it in then. Just seemed like it pulled the headliner up too high. Thanks for the help.
Yep, mine was just the plastic bezel and it did seem like the corners pulled on the headliner a bit. It could depend on which holes you used for your headliner bows.
Thanks, that's what I was looking for. It just didn't seem like it was fitting right, but now I see that is how it goes.
