so true, in fact, that the bottom of the car makes it a challenge for anyone other than a really good exhaust fabricator, if you want tail pipes that is.
i know this is true because i am not a "really good exhaust fabricator", and as such - i have turn downs in front of my diff! sigh. i got to get back out there. i want tail pipes.
it doesn't have tail pipe it stops half way down the car it sounds nice though little loud inside the car but i dont mind =)
Mine dump just at the axle, and it is "a little loud inside the car". I wouldn't mind moving some of that sound outward, exiting just in front of the wheels, if possible. I liked that setup with side pipes and side exit, but the CalTracs sorta get in the way. Here is a picture of where i just had to cut my exhaust off both sides to install the CalTracs and subframe connectors. I might be able to squeeze by them if I tried.
Do the Stang gas tank mod and you'll have plenty of room on both sides to run exhaust out the back. It can be done with the stock tank, but it's a pain, and it will always be scary close to the tank on that one side. If you use a Stang tank, centered up, you can use off the shelf Stang exhaust kits.
If you ever decide to get tailpipes take it down to De Anza exhaust on 14th and Market. They do awesome work at very affordable prices. They have done exhaust systems for a bunch of Magazines like Hot Rod, car craft and several street rod ones.
