No, I don't have it but it looks interesting. I don't think any of the hand brakes in our cars are "emergency" brakes, they're more for "parking" brakes. At one time I even considered installing a pair of line locks, front and rear, then all I would have to do is push on the brake pedal and flip a switch to lock all four wheels. Too many ideas and not enough time...
Yea! That seems to be the case w/ a lot of us "esp. the old timers". Those setups are probably much more effective, as far as, emer. brakes. The OE cable setup are mostly effective as parking brake "IMO". Hope I never have to use them for stopping purposes. One of the things I wud object to is all the hardware that wud most likely be mounted in the pass. compartment, in addition to the brake handle. If you have a console it wud not do much harm in the way of asthetics. Most of what I see on web search; they are used a lot in drifting, autocross and other purpose applications. I suppose if you want the improved braking performance, you have to be willing to make some compromises.
Hydraulic parking brakes can be real bad if you are really needing it to keep the car in one place. There usually is no back up for leaks in the system like an air brake system. the line lock idea is good for a short time as long as you have a good battery.
Well I just installed my Mustang handle today and made a bracket to hold the cables. The way my car sits I will have bigger problems if the drive shaft gets up that high.
