    Not a bad price for a billet piece. Not sure that I like them though.:)

    cant say that im a big fan of the look either but te hinge design its self could probably work well

    At least the prop rod is in the front so you can work on the sides, Those look like they would get in the way. A better solution is the bolt through the base of the hinge trick.

    You could always use the pressure shocks that they use on the rear lift gates. You could mount it back so it was out of the way when working on the sides.

    That's what I used on my trunk lid on my Falcon. There are many gas springs to choose from and some already have the mounts on the spring. I first tried a short fat gas spring from a Jeep Wanoneer and it was too strong and I thought I was going to bend or break something. I then used a gas spring from a '90 Acura and it worked fine for my application.

    Unfortunatly you won't gain anything from the gas struts on the front. The front hinges articulate forward as they raise up, even with a long stoke strut the hood opens less than the prop rod.

    I tried very hard to make them work on my car, the only solution was to change hinges. Or have the stuts set vertical. I went with the fox body mustang hinges and the gas strut work great with them.
