Mustang Gas Tank

    1971 Maverick Grabber 98 DOHC Cobra engine w/5speed, 1974 Pinto 2.0 4speed daily driver.
    I know a few of you guys are running Mustang gas tanks. I need someone to get me some measurements on the tank. I need LxWxH. and these have the sending units in the front instead of the side like Mavericks correct? Im either going this route or a fuel cell. But I would really like a steel tank in there. Thanks

    24" long x 32½" wide (counting the 1¼" flange where the bolts go through) and 8¼" deep. This is the 16 gallon tank

    Mustangs Unlimited has the dimensions on each tank. Here's the later tank I put in my '72...

    Thanks thats just what I needed. Im going to go with a 65/68 16 gallon. Should work perfect. Going to build a structure out of 1"x1" SQ tubing and weld to the frame and drop the tank in from the top.
