Hi guys, it's me again. My car is coming along nicely. Thanks to all the great advice ya'll have been giving me. It's been a long time since I had my last maverick and I forget what the best type of Motor oil I should use. I will post some updated pics soon. Thanks again guys!!!
This is one of those questions, that you will get 20 different people to give you 20 different answers ............ My opinion: Stock engine - run a good brand name oil and add a little Lucas or ZDDP additive, as modern oils do not contain the anti-wear zinc they use to have. 10W-30 in normal climate and 10W-40 if you drive very long trips or it is very hot in summer where you live. If you drive in winter, change to a 5W-30. Modified engine: Synthetic of your choice - mine is Amsoil If you run a cheaper oil - change it more often -----
Couldnt agree more with the previous post! :Handshake If this is a new build you will need to prime the oil pump. I used my old stock dist, broke it apart used the shaft on a corded drill, removed both head covers and primed it until I seen oil come flying out.
