I am sure someone can answer my question on here.... I have a 1973 Maverick with a 250 ci engine. I have a Carter RBS one barrel carbeuretor on it. Recently, I replaced the needle and seat and the female fitting on the seat is too large for the little 30degree elbow to screw into. My question is....Can i omit the 30degree elbow in the line or is it necessary????? I assume that the only reason for the elbow is so the fuel is not squirting directly at the needle.......

If you have successfully omitted the elbow without any carbeuretion problems, please let me know. Thanks anyone for your help.

Do a RBS==== google image search. Yes you can remove the elbo fitting, you probably need another streight fitting depending on fuel line size. I personally have had problems rebuilding the RBS, pump section.
