This is the engine I'm installing this weekend, hoping that the Tri-Y headers work, I got them from a guy that said he took them off his Maverick some years ago. If not I have a set of Flow Techs in the box. Those are not the valve covers I'm using, they are currently being bead blasted. They are the 85 Mustang aluminum Powered By Ford ones.
Ahhhhhh,, I remember when my motor looked that good. Makes me wanna pull it and detail it. Looks very very nice. Dan
I noticed the aluminum standoff on your head for the alternaor mount. They used those on 351W.Does that help with your alt.fit-up?Mine doesn't use that spacer and my bracket looks to be a little lower.Just wondering because I have been fighting proper alignment with mine.
Lookin good..from the looks of the headers they may be less trouble installing than the Hooker 6901's...Good Luck on start-up
It looks good. If it runs as good as it looks, you'll have a fine ride. I like Tri-Y headers; they make excellent torque.

Shelby Tri-Y headers and thats about it, I hope it will be reliable as the inline 6 I'm pulling out ! I belong to A Car Club called The Crowley's Ridge Cruisers, we raise money for Childrens charities by having car shows and other special events. I built this car to be in those shows and it will be driven to everyone of them. At first I wanted the biggest cam that would fit in the engine and other crazy things but finally came down to earth on what would be steetable and settled on this combo. I still need to figure out what gear I need, it still has the factory 3.00 in it.
The stock gears or a 3.25:1 set would prolly be best if you`r gonna be driving it over 65 mph . If you have no plans on driving it on the hiway you could use 3.50.1 or even 3.75:1 if you realy think you need it.
Yeah, I put in 3.80's and now I'm sorry I didn't go with a little higher gears. If I'm gunna drive it to Carlise which is over 600 miles...I'll have to throw the stock 2.79's in. You are better off sticking with yer 3.00's. D. Ray
