What attaches the V-8 throttle cable to the firewall? I know what I have but I'm just wanting to make sure what I am using is correct or if I should fab something. Thanks!!!
The early cars had one hole in this bracket. This type of cable used the inside pedal with the pin that went through the eyelet on the cable. Ford later switched to two holes in this bracket. When they did that, they switched the inside gas pedal to one with a slit in it that the cable slid through the slit and was clipped into the pedal with a plastic bushing.
Ok, thanks for the replies. The old cable I took out had a flange attached to the cable and had one screw mounting it to the firewall. I cut the flange off a cable I got with my new gas pedal, drilled it out and slid my new cable through it and mounted it to the firewall.
For all those who have installed a Lokar or any other type of aftermarket throttle cables and brackets have you had any issues with the throttle cable rubbing against the part of the cable housing that passes through the firewall? If so what did you do about it? Thanks!!!
