Im trying to figure out how to get to the heater core and blower on my 74 ford maverick with AC. I have the lower part of the dash removed and I'm mostly trying to figure out if the entire dash needs to be pulled out or if there is something I'm over looking. If anyone could point me to a particular thread that goes over the full process I would appreciate it all of the information I keep finding is for non ac and the comments are always saying w/AC is way more difficult then without

I have referred to this as being like pulling a molar out of a T-Rex if you are pulling the whole box. You can move everything about an inch or two at a time until you angle it out. Definitely remove the passenger side kick panel, or you will scratch it up. The upper dash does not have to be removed.

You may be able to service the heater core by popping the clips off the box and leaving the firewall-mounted section in place, but at this point in time, the seals inside probably are all turning to dust. They are foam. You can get a kit for a Mustang, and most of the seals are pre-cut and will fit. I had to make a couple new ones, too.
