just bought the car a few months ago and it was completely torn down for a full restoration. I've been putting it back together as i have to be able to drive to the shop i use to finish the body work and other mecanical issues.
did you ever figure out what the problem was? mine in my mustang is doing the same exact thing important going to replace mod valve and filter this weekend but important sure we r experiencing the same issue
Sorry I'm no tranny expert but I've been researching cause mine is acting up and came across this great link..... http://www.mustang.org.au/technicals/66/7 - automatic transmission.pdf
Also remember the governer on the back of the transmission (all you have to remove is the tailhousing) will also cause such a problem. It did on my 74 back in the 80's. It's easy to change out. Don't even have to take the tranny out. But first take it to a shop and have them check line pressures. They screw adapters into special ports on the transmission case to do that.
Important, the way it usually works around here is you ask a question looking for assistance and others offer suggestions that may help. I could care less if your playing with your phone or don't know what to do with a PDF link.
