Aod column shift

Ok im getting ready to put the motor in my 70 maverick, im wanting to go aod so i can take my car to work, 25 miles of highway one way is why i want aod lol. My question is has anyone bought one of the cable shift kits for the column shift? I ask bc i have hedman longtubes but i wanna keep my column shift

 

I'm using a Lokar rod kit, with my column and AOD.

 

Do you have longtube headers? Thats my main concern bc i was told you cant use longtubes with the column shift.

 

I'm using shorties.
