Will these rims fit maverick? http://spokane.craigslist.org/pts/4374885638.html 15" X 8" 5x 55. bolt. the maverick is a 5 lug car with front disk brakes. thanks
5x5.5 bolt pattern is also used on many race wheels and I think some mid sixtiesPontiacs. Adapters are available, check Ebay if you really like the wheels and the offset will work after adding the adapters.
Most race wheels on stock cars, dirt modifieds and others that use a stock style front stub, plus all NASCAR, ARCA, USAC and about any other "stock car" style racing wheels are usually 5 on 5, not 5 on 5.5. Big Impala (plus Pontiac, Buick, Cady equivalent) , some Lincoln, some Merc and Ford wagons came stock with 5 on 5. Nobody uses a 5 on 5.5 that I am aware of (nobody builds a quick change or 9" Ford floater rearend with a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern hub that I know of) and I just retired from 25 years of dirt track racing with a few trips to the pavement thrown in for fun. Maybe in off road racing but that's mostly bead lock stuff and way heavier. Back in the 60's they used truck axles and brakes on Ford NASCAR cars to get the bigger brakes and bearings. That is the last time I knew anyone that ran 5 on 5.5 wheels in car racing. Those are truck rims. SPark
