chrome bumper vs painted bumper

Today I put a chrome bumper on my car that I bought from a.member and I must say I think my car looks better with the painted bumper, I don't know if it because I'm use to looking at it painted or the color of my car, granted its dirty dirty... what u guys think?

 

I also think it looks better painted on your car, but may be do to it having 73 bumper mounts. It looks like it hang out to far, where as the painted one blends in. I think it would look best in gloss black though.

 

Looks like your painted bumper fits better, on the ends. I like the painted bumper, with that color.

 

I like the chrome better.

I would agree but this is a Comet...I like the painted...

 

I was all ready to say chrome but with that color the monochromatic scheme ain't bad... If the center panel and light bezels were blacked out I'd likely say chrome...

I think they both look good. Just use your personal preference.

Sorry, but I just never liked the painted bumper look on an otherwise stock classic car. Growing up in the '70's and 80's, everything had a chrome bumper. Now, the only thing you see them on are pick up trucks.

I think it all depends on how much chrome you have in your car, my personal taste is that a car with painted bumper needs all the chrome (or most of it) deleted or it doesn't look right. On the other hand if you have a car with chrome bumper and all the other chrome pieces deleted, it just looks like it's incomplete. Of course that's just my opinion and I could be wrong.
