shoot i forgot about this.. editor at work just asked me about this again. ok.. i will use a few of these but i really do need some real ones. i need them by tonight! thanks
haa haa thats not funny ... i took my blue car out to visit a client for their drift test day. i just brought it out so they could say.. what the hell? but they wanted me to drift it... yeah right. but i did get to go on a ride with one of the drift drivers form japan... very fun! its not as easy as you think. all i gotta say is real control! i was impressed!
I don't have a clue. I pay little attention to somebody's mommas' former Accord, with yellow graphics on the factory blue paint, railroad wheels (all metal) and sheetmetal wings with spatoons for exhaust. (Actually I do pay attention to them, wondering if I had been born 20 yrs. later if I'd be doing the same thing) I guess that it is just the times. I know that all kids can't afford a V8 Mustang or Camaro/Bird-even late models. and besided trucks, there aren't really any affordable V8's out there. I guess that it is understandable that they are doing this type of customization. Seth
I, somewhat, agree with Seth. However, I'm only 22 and have been building my car since I was in high school, as many of my friends, on a limited budget. The performance parts for modern cars usually have to be compatible with the ECU or computer. Henceforth, the parts are a lot more complex and, thus, they are more expensive. I have found that it's, actually, less expensive/simpler to build an older car (not to mention they have so much more style). Don't want to turn this into an ugly, argumentative, anti-import thread ; it's just that I know people who've eaten many a Ramen Noodle dinner because they wanted to save money for a great car. These kids choose to build these cars. Hoping my mouth didn't get me in trouble again, Eric (silver70)
ok don't want this post to go off in the wrong direction back to rice car bashing.. you already know how i feel about that. soooo.. back to the orginal post... if anyones got some real ones it would be nice. tomorrow is it. they also requested me to put in pictures of mavericks. i have a few already.. if someone intrested let me know all photos need to be 300 dpi. if you dont know what that is, let me put it this way.. if you pulled it off the web page 95% its not 300 dpi. aslo just so you know i'm not picking the pictures i'm just requesting them. if they make it in great, if not oh well, so dont get your hopes up to high. again this is for a sport compact magazine as a joke to confuse and piss off readers for april fools. so dont expect some great magazine about mavericks. anwyays bashing questions were fine but i really do need some real tech post questions with answers. in fact the better the real questions the better chance i'll submit your car. tomorrow is it. thanks
A real question. I have a 1973 Maverick Grabber, stock, from all outward appearances except for my wheels. Under the hood the car is powered by a 1984 351W police block. The engine was built using, TRW forged piston (it has 10:1 CR), Performer intake, cam, lifters and a Holley 750 (w/vac secondaries). Of course the car has headers and dual exhaust. I'm using a points distributor with a pertronix module. Lately I've been wondering about adding a supercharger to my car. Would I need to lower the compression? How much boost could I run? What are my options for superchargers for use with my 351W? What other improvements might I need to make with this addition?
