Pulled the Maverick out of the garage & gave it a bath. Also cleaned all the vinyl interior... Looking good. Makes me want to keep it. But, know it's not feasible. Will tinker with it, until it's sold...

Walked around it with my son who never showed much interest in it before but now has learned to weld where he works so he is going to take a shot at finishing up my welding

The front section of any common flat Maverick hood is the same so you can have it grafted on to make that dent disappear (y)

Yesterday: Found out that the holes on my CB radio bracket are the perfect size for a couple of the screws under the radio in the Mav. Unfortunately, it's a Uniden 510XL so it's super narrow and only fits the 2 screws closer to the driver side. Hopefully the radio and the mic cord don't get in the way of my feet when I get in and out of the car. If so, I'll just weld on an extension to one side to make it work with the center screw and the one on the passenger side. Today: Plan on mounting my CB radio and wiring it up to power and hopefully finding my CB mic that I've evidently misplaced since last weekend. I'm gonna end up running a magnet mount on the trunk for my antenna so I won't have to drill any holes in the car to mount anything.

    Thanks Bob,
We have a good donor hood, just need to find a competent body guy to do the work. This ones a little beyond our skill set.

Around here they do! Found out that the mounting location I'm using now won't work, so I'm gonna have to fiddle with the bracket and tack on an extension

Took the car out again today, man I need to do something..it handles pretty good, but not nearly good enough....so changes might be in order...also felt a slight bog in the carb, need to do some checking, I can't remember how much I did to the card last year, it's pretty new....

I was fiddling around with a basic CB antenna fender mount I made for an old Explorer of mine to see what it would look like on the Mav. I was rushing and using the wrong drill bit and it ended up grabbing it, spinning it around, and cutting my hand pretty good before throwing it halfway across my front lawn. Lesson learned: Take your time, do it right, be safe.

I went to a guy's house to buy some parts a few years ago after he advertised that he was selling a lot of his Maverick/Comet parts - I get there and he has 3 guys with pick up trucks loading up parts and each one of them had a Grabber hood plus the front of a flat hood - that was the way he was selling them
