I have read most of the posts on this board regarding coil spring fitment and still cannot come to a conclusion as to whether or not they will fit. I know 67-70 are supposed to fit but what about 65-66. Another question is: would this be a good match for the 4 leaf springs I have in the rear. I am currently running I6 coils which leaves my front end feeling squishy compared to the rear. These springs are supposed to give a 1" drop. If I end up cutting them for more of a drop, will the spring rate change?

According to my handy-dandy interchange manual the 65-66 Mustang front springs are the same part number as Mavericks. 67-up Mustang springs are different. It's the other parts of the front suspension that a Maverick has in common with 67-73 Mustangs; control arms, ball joints, etc. And yes, the spring rate will increase if you cut down a coil spring.

We had 66 mustang 620 coils on Tammy's when it had the stock suspension.........I liked them. Got them for free, my buddy changed to 720's in his mustang.

Just curious Tom, Did you have the 620 coils cut for the ride hight when they were on Tammy's car? What size SpringPad Insulators did you use. Mine will be 1/4" polly".

    Thanks

    A little o/t:

The 'squishy' springs are great for weight transfer if you intend any time at the track.
If you are not a street/strip kinda person though, they are annoying.
    Good luck
    Dave

I have the 6 cyl. springs on mine, I like the softer ride compared to the V8 springs.

Yep we had to cut them because her car sets kinda low, we had the stock insulator.
