    connterfeit parts

I buy all my components through SUMMIT RACING PRODS .. Built ten cars so far using Summit .. No Problem !! They always stand behind their products ..I had a MSD blaster coil explode under my hood many years ago .. and MSD sent me a new one Direct through Summit. I don't buy anything electrical through Ebay

QUOTE=blugene;1014007]I wonder how many of us have bought these fake parts simply because we budget build.

Its kind funny they left CXracing out of that article. They sell Chinese knock off parts like their turbos and intercoolers. Yet Hot Rod and Car Craft use them in their builds and link to their store...

I guess I never really thought about it, or noticed that there was so much actual counterfit products out there! WOW! Not a bad article. Thanks for sharing!

I got 2 bad Bosch intercooler pumps from CX Racing. One was DOA. After the second one died in a day and I complained they informed me that they no longer wanted my business.

I see nothing wrong with selling Chinese parts or knock-offs, as long as the vendor states so. The problem arises when they lead you to believe otherwise...

They don't. And unfortunately most people on the domestic world have no clue.

I sent them(Hot Rod) an email about it once and it was just ignored. Commented on their FB page and it was deleted.

CX sponsors them, I'm not surprised by Hot Rod, but Car Craft I was disappointed with.

Another thing you'll notice is when they use CX's knock offs in builds they always end up uprading them with better units, suprisinly not by them but genuine Garret, Hellion or Precision turbos.

So the Magazine guys even know the knock offs wont last long and they replace them as soon as possible.
