I'm starting back on the restoration of my 74 maverick 4 door. (I like 4 doors better) but I want to put a 302 in it. I have no clue where to look. Help?

I have two V8's here in Texas, both have been rebuilt with some mileage on them.

my local u-pull it has roller 302's for 250 bucks. look for a car that was wrecked to the point it had to be junked, preferably in the back. makes for a cheap core to rebuild.

you can get a failry strong crate motor from summit for like 3-4k depending what you want to do also

roller 302 ? Don't bother to look in a car, look in any 94-97 pickup or van. Or an Explorer/Mountaineer. These all had an excellent cam, the Explorer/Mountaineers had GT40 heads. And all make much more power than the 5.0 in the cars (aside from the Stangs) You will have to change the oilpans to a front sump and do something with the FEAD (Front End Accessory Drive) what you do there is personal choice, some like the serpentine drive, some want to retain the V belts
