Did anyone who did the hydraulic clutch conversion have to use a different master cylinder than a 3/4 bore? My slave is a CNC 7/8 and the master cylinder is a Wilwood 3/4. Transmission seems not to get enough push to fully disengaged. Will a larger master cylinder help this problem?

You need to go with the 3/4" MC.

Bigger bore gives more volume but less pressure.

Smaller bore gives less volume but more pressure.

Most clutches use a 3/4" MC.

    Make sure it's bled completely.

My buddy jski has the same problem with a modern driveline setup. Then clutch doesn't have enough travel to disengage. I think modern driveline is sending him a different master. He started a thread on it recently.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking I needed a 7/8 bore. But I will get with a friend and bleed the system again before I spend more money. Bryant, did you try a 3/4 bore first?

yes the first time i did this i started with the 3/4 mc 7/8s slave. i was not able to get the clutch to release. went to the 7/8s all around and that was the trick. ive done this conversion on 4 cars now. on each one ive evolved my kit. the last one i did has worked the best and was the simplest. ive learned not to use willwood m/c. they have an aluminum bore that doesnt hold up to the arch of the push rod. cnc has stainless steel liner in their m/c that makes the difference.

Oh ok. Well I was thinking about using a Tilton if I had to get another one. If bleeding fail, I will check CNC too. Thanks again

Is the master getting full stroke? If not, you might be able to drop the pedal take-off point a bit and increase the stroke...

I have the CNC 3/4 master and 7/8 slave. I copied Bryants earlier setups. It does have enough throw but barely. Had to set the clutch pedal pretty high to get enough throw. the pedal effort is awesome though. The clutch pedal is almost softer then the gas pedal. If I had to change the master I would probably do a 7/8" bore. less travel and a little more pedal effort would be good.
