Hi all, First time Maverick owner and pretty damn excited about it. I’ve had two 1970 Torino Cobras with 429 Cobra Jets and 4-speeds. I had a 2008 Mustang GT and then a 2007 Shelby GT500. They are all sold now but the new toy is Maverick and I couldn’t be more excited. If all goes well, I will pick it up this coming Friday. It’s a 1973 Maverick Grabber clone with mildly built 351W. The car needs a front bumper but is 99.9% complete and rust free. Future plans for the car include obtaining a pre-1973 front bumper, Magnum 500’s at all 4 corners and eventually a 5-speed manual conversion. Probably want to change out the front spoiler as well. Thanks, Pete
Welcome to the best maverick forum there is... Thanks for posting the pic's because now I know what my Wimbledon white grabber will look like when I put the stripes on it...
Do you mean... ... what I refer to as an export brace? Is that an issue with these cars? I know 1968 -1971 Torinos like the back of my hand. Mavericks, not so much.
it is... i had to shove back my shock towers by an inch, even with the factory braces installed. a member on here makes both an export brace as well as a monte carlo bar. very recommendable upgrades. oh, and a very nice clean looking car!
from Northeast Pennsylvania You can get those tower braces used on this site - just post in the Classifieds under "Parts Wanted" - if you were closer I would give you mine for free
Welcome to the board, you can find out just about anything you need to know on here to fix these cars.If you thought you could make Mustangs & Torinos go fast, you ain`t seen nuttin yet.these cars are much lighter & it does`nt take a lot of power to get them moving, you do some upgrades to that 351w & that thing will be a handful.
