Its already converted to 134a. Vacuumed and charged 1.68 lbs last year and worked great all season. Flat again this spring so I vacuumed and recharged and it lasted about 2 months. Last time it was up in the air I noticed it was greasy at the bottom corners of the condenser coil. Pretty sure its leaking there and I hope this is my only leak. Ive called Classic Auto Air and left messages and also sent an email but Ive yet to receive a response. Is there any mustang condensers that fit? I would like to go to a parallel flow coil if I can. I see alot of universal condensers available. What size core are you guys using? Im fairly certain this is going to be the most economic route.
This looks like it would work. Pretty much the same size as our stock one. Hope the fittings are the same size and thread. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-16-x-20-PARALLEL-FLOW-UNIVERSAL-CONDENSER-ALUMINUM-O-RING-6-AND-8-/161317146682?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item258f40503a&vxp=mtr
Really? I did not know that. What is the name of the place? Ive been doing residential a/c for 15 years in Phoenix but very little of the automotive stuff
I got the coil in and mounted. Pretty much the exact same size, with the same size fittings. The only issue I have now is how to mount the drier. Need to fab a bracket.
Back in the mid-90s my A/C guy had a heck of a time finding a drier, and the one he got was for some other Ford. He had to mod it a bit to mount it.
I was able to manipulate the lines and mount the drier to the new core using a piece of 5/8 channel. I flushed the original drier and reused it. Rock auto has the driers available but I didnt want to wait a week. Charged it at 1lb 9oz and added 2 oz of oil I had on the shelf. I had 45 degrees at idle when it was 105 outside.
