For those that have a St. Thomas built 69 1/2 car. Does the car have a metal data plate on the door or does it have the sticker on the door jamb like the later cars? I know the 69 1/2 KC built cars have the metal plate.
I'll go out on a limb and say it depends on when the '69½ was built and that includes KC... I know there are late '69½ that still have the dash ign sw that were built after Ford's other other '70 models were coming off the line, those I'd think would have stickers instead of metal data tags...
My own St Thomas built 69.5 would fall into that category being built in October 1969 after the actual 70 model was introduced one month earlier in September - it had the sticker on the driver's rear door frame
I saw the same thing while just checking Paul's VIN list - I have no idea how these cars got built in October 69 and still retained the key under the dash
Locking column wasn't required till Jan 1 1970, Ford could build all they wanted till then... The '70 Falcon was discontinued in Dec '69 & '70½ based on Torino body began production shortly there after... I suppose the 70½ could have began production sooner, but the non-locking column '70 Falcon was history beginning Jan '70...
Only reason I asked is I ordered Marti reports for the 69 1/2 and 70 cars we have and also purchased reproduction data tags and they both came as decals.
I have added your VIN to our ever-growing list! http://mmb.maverick.to/showpost.php?p=1016652&postcount=702
