Well i got her. She's finally home after some grueling travels. The roads out there are pretty bad for hauling.:drive:

I got tons I want to do to her but thank goodness my Dad (R.I.P) pounded a little good since in me.

I am in the mode of evaluating.

No inside lights, no major leakage... but wet underneath....not sure what yet but my bet is power steering or tranny. I hope its not a front seal on the tranny.

I have been looking thru the site and so far I have found alot of info. :D

So I think that I am going to look into the interior DASH functions. I have NO interior lighting...I hope its fuses/bulbs. The dash and top pad is a 3 out of 10. Really more like a 1. I just remember from long ago with my Pop that all of that crap underneath there is quiet a pain. I am back to realizing that all of the little things it takes, to get to what you need to do. So...with a "joke" of budget I got some difficult choices......the fun first? or the other stuff? Don't know what yet, but I am a stickler for making sure everything works. :)

Like I said I have looked thru the site and it rocks.I have bookmarks to get parts, pictures and experience to check out, and I am sure more. :thumbs2:

So I will ask my first question...:bouncy:

Is there a website that can offer a " new" complete dash?

    I will keep looking.

    Thanks

There are different analog and digital gauges that some have used and a dash "cap" to cover the original padded dash top but the actual steel dash would need to be bought used :tiphat:

Ok thanks everyone. I will post pics from time to time. Gonna put it up on stands this week and clean up underneath to try and find leak(s).

    so far so good

Well I found some of the leaks. The pan and the shifter. I read some posts about the bolt maybe too long so first I will try just replacing the o-ring(s) and the pan gasket and go from there. I am pretty sure the power steering is leaking but not sure from where.

I put a set of gauges in mainly for temperature. None of my factory interior lights work, the gas hand and speed-o works. The old girl runs pretty steady A 190 degrees. I haven't terminated anything else yet. I did convert from points to the pertronix ignitor and put a flame thrower coil. Changed the plugs and wires and she fired right up. I have yet to stretch it out...just not enough time in the day.

I also been looking fro all of the casting numbers will goofing around. I did find the stamp on the back/top of the block and the tag on the tranny. From what I have found decoding on-line it looks to be the factory motor and transmission. I am not sure if the tag is still on the differential or not. Just by looking it looks like a 9inch to me....but I will find out for sure.

Oh I also ordered some new springs and stuff for the front. I am going to read up alot more before I cut them for a lower stance. I am also debating whether or not to buy a front disc brake kit (mine are drums) or do the granada deal.

The car has side pipes and they are not baffled at all....sounds pretty good to me but they are very loud. So I may go the exhaust route first.

Any and feedback and advise is welcome as I know there are alot guys on here that have been thru alot of the things I am going thru now so I am reading alot on this site I will say it has been a huge help. I am glad to be a member here and look forward to learning and sharing with everyone!!

I did show the car at a car show last weekend and saw onlt one other Maverick. It was a Grabber and man it was way nicer than mine.

Maybe I will get there one day!

    Thanks

Hey I have not been in for a while. I have taken out the power steering and swapped it for a manual. Put new upper and lower control arms, sway bar links, shocks, spring perches. I also bought the heavy mustang springs etc and cut them 1-1/2 coil out. I am extremely pleased it looks great. I also added a aluminum intake. I am also in the middle of doing the granada front disc brake swap. So she is up on jack stands. I have the spindles and rotors on. I have to put the calipers on. I also put a mechanical oil pressure guage in. New fuel pump. I bought a bigger radiator but apparently I cannot measure as it will not fit without cutting the frame, so luckily Summit said they will take it back. I also got a new water pump but have not installed yet.

I bought a new master cylinder, and a dist/prop valve. The valve I bought from Summit. It is the Willwood one. With the adjustment knob. I will post some pics soon.

So this is the to do list:

    Install calipers, new hoses.
I am debating on doing the master cylinder now and just go for the prop valve for now
    Bleed brakes
    Install water pump
Install radiator (getting the one that came in car checked out first) also want to paint it black
    Install electric fan
    Wire everything back up
    Install all hoses
    Set timing and carb
    Flush cooling system
    Get the front end aligned

    Burn Rubber
