Read the archives, there is a "hole" stamped in the front panel that will acommodate the 5.25" speakers. But, I've noticed the hole is very shallow. Is there a 5.25 4ohm on the market that is shallow enough to install in the factory opening without modification? I'm trying to avoid the speaker grill on the outside and simply go with drilling holes in the kick panels. Thoughts.....
I read on here of two types that fit and the one I bought were the Pyramid 526DC 5.25" speakers. I have not installed them yet but could measure depth if you want.

My 5.25" speakers came with a spacer ring to keep the back of the speaker magnet from touching metal. I have early '73 LDO kick panels.
Found the 526DC mounting depth, 1.5", should work in our mavericks. My speakers did not come with the spacer!
