I found another website that really helped me decode my car and through a bit more investigation, I finally figured out that my car was made in Canada. How common are Canadian cars in the US? No wonder I couldn't find anything from here in the US, even though both countries made the same car. Go figure I get a Canuckian! LOL

I'm not sure how common they are but all 3 of my Mavs are Canadian.

My '69.5 was built in Windsor.

Mine and two of my friend's Mavericks were built in Canada. My Thunderbird came from there, too.

They don't ship them this far south?

All of my Mavericks and Comets were made in Kansas city, including my parts cars.

The first model year (1970) the Maverick was only built in two plants: St Thomas in Canada and the Kansas City Assembly plant. It would be safe to assume that half of all 1970 Mavericks were made in Canada. Not sure what years, but other plants were added in the following years.

You are correct...my car was made in St. Thomas, not Windsor.

    Thanks,

My 74 was built and sold in Canada
My 75 was built in the US and sold in Canada
My 76 which came from the Us was made in Canada

All 3 came with a 250, auto trans, manual disc brakes and the 75 and 76 had power steering. My 74 has the rear window defogger.
