I swear this car is bad luck or something i can never seem to get anywhere on this engine, got it all ready to have the exhaust installed tomorrow and hust my luck now i have to replace a freeze plug, and its the driver side one behind the head.
Alright i have the head off and i got the old freeze plug out but the freeze i bought is slightly bigger than the original, the new one is a dorman steel plug. So is their a difference in size between plugs and should i go with bronze instead?
Yep.. Ford changed the sizes depending on age of the heads used so you'll need the year to nail the right part. Not sure what years(or specific models?) used which sizes though.. but maybe the "stock part" guru's will chime in. Brass would surely be best if you plan on keeping the car for a considerably longer time and want them to last for a lifetime.
