Yup, it's a 302. Make sure you get the correct oil pick up with the front sump pan.

And if a 460 fit that well, I would have one installed!

Easy to tell a 302/5.0 from a 351W. The little flat machined horizontal pad just behind the water pump/timing cover with the long bolt that goes all the way thru (abut 2 o'clock if looked at from the front of the engine) will be the same height as the bottom of the head on a 289/302/5.0 and there will be an inch between the top of that little machined pad and the bottom of the head on a 351W.

The only difference in a 302 pan and a 351W pan is the rear seal area. The 351W uses a bigger rear seal area.

    You have a 302/5.0 engine.

Ok thanks guys. I was told 302 when I bought the truck it was in. I think summit just sent the wrong pan. The new one should be here this evening. And yes I got pick up for front sump already installed. I ordered when ordered the pan. If pan fits tonight. I'll start with fuel lines and electronic wiring by the weekend. Will continue update in project posting. Thanks again everyone. Been a big help in this mess....

New oil pan came in. Definitely 5.0. Sent front sump pan 1988 f150 302 2wd. It's oem not same style I ordered. But motor is bolted in. Start on fuel and wiring. Should be running soon. Thanks again for all the info and help. Mystery solved!!!
