Does anyone know where I can get a new battery tray for my 1971 Comet? Autokrafters is
not selling the one I need (Part# D0DZ-10732).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I bought six battery boxes about 4 or 5 years ago , I think I still have two in their original box that I haven't used on cars we've built..
Let me check and I'll get back to you.

I have a finished Reproduction made by Period Perfect Parts that fits 69-to 73 Vehicles. Its NEW , in the original carton , black powder coated and I'll ship it to you for $ 100.00 . I'd prefer a postal money order if you're interested and I'll give you MY address , and I'd need YOURS if you want the box.
    Thanks,

    Hello Mr. Comet :
Yes ! It "would" fit my comet but I install my batteries in the TRUNK on all my cars over the Passenger Side
wheel. I'm in DeLand , Florida ..my phone is 386-740-7459 and email is cameocarclub@yahoo.com . What part of Florida are you located ? If you could pick up the item yourself you could save $20.00 ..just a thought ..It doesn't matter to me . If you think you might want it lemmeno ..
    Thanks,

    Mr.Comet:
Any luck yet on your battery tray hunt ? I still have a couple here in their original boxes on the shelf if you can't find anything near you. I don't sell parts very often and I will probably have these trays for awhile unless someone else needs them. I understand that the trays that I have are the last of the PERIOD PERFECT PARTS run. If anyone else out there needs a battery tray .. I have two NEW in the box @ $100.00 shipped to you.
    Lemmeno ..

So are they no longer going to make these trays?

    Hi Craig:
As I understand it , AutoKrafters has had No Response from Period Perfect Parts when they order these units. I haven't spoke to PPP also for a number of months . I don't know if they're still active or not ? I have two left over
from a previous purchase a couple of years ago . I sold a couple , and installed one on my Son In Laws 71 Maverick last year. I can't imagine them NOT making more when they went to all the trouble making them in the first place.
    We'll see what develops.

I talked to Joe today. He said that they are going to be tooling up and repopping more battery trays real soon. The initial run was 500 and they have sold all of those he said.

That is GREAT news for the Maverick community!
Are the Maverick trays made in USA?
