in the middle of a 302 conversion on my 71 mav, with C4. the exhasut manifolds from the motor (91 mustang 5.0) do not fit as far as i can see. what headers or manifolds can i use that will be an easy fit and cost effective?

edit: the exhaust manifolds are actually from a 77 ford granada (suspension donor car that came with a 302)

Maverick/Comet stock manifolds only. there are some headers that will work...6901s I've used.

Ive seen this before, about the 6901s... but are they pretty much bolt on? or do i need to modify shock towers, motor mounts etc?

the 6901s require a drop down bracket for the power steering ram if you have power steering. i think they may have a problem with the column shift linkage also. im not sure about that. so if you have manual steering and are using a floor shifter you wont have any problems with those headers.

Just put 6901's in last night. As in the past I had to jack the left side of engine up off mount. Right side slips in no probs. The headers I took out did work with column shift. These Hookers wont. Wish I knew what make the old ones are. Real cheap light weight header with no plate connecting tubes together at head surface. The one tube is dimpled but they did work with column shift when I got the car way back.

does anyone know of any junk yard cars with c4 that had a floor shifter that will work well?

Best to start a new thread when you have a new question.....not tag on to your thread about headers.

Any C-4 can be made to operate with a floor shift....no need to change the entire transmission....if that is what you are asking.

if you find one, get the shift lever off the transmission...
