I've been working on replacing brake hoses/lines. following the brake line to the rear brakes, it comes to a brass "T" fitting which is some how installed on the axle housing. found hose leaking from that "T" however the hose is not threaded into the brass "T" fitting. I need to remove/replace the brass "T" fitting from the axle housing, how does one do that? It is a 8.8 rear axle out of a 74 Maverick Thanks alaskamaverick, living in Spokane!
You have to replace the rear line (Hose) the "T" is integral with it. There should be a vent nipple/hose for the rear axle attached to the "T" as well. It will unscrew from the axle tube and release the T fitting/brake hose from the axle...If its the cars original rear axle...Its' an 8 inch not 8.8.
OK, outstanding it is threaded then. And Rock Auto has it, BENDIX Part # 77009 Rear; Center Intermediate. $20.79...ordered. thanks guys.
Since you are in Spokane, next time you need brake hose or tubing check out Inland Pacific Hose and Fittings, they can build them in house if they have the correct fittings.
