I love paying professionals to assemble my motor. Just check out the awesome job the shop did on my exhaust rocker. No wonder I had heat issues. Time to take the engine apart and look for damage.
I'd guess the same if he's running a flat tappet cam. In which case the builder is not wholely responsible. It really is up to the guy who installs and fires up the engine to insure everything is done right before starting it up.
Got the intake off with the heads, turns out its the lifter. Its a roller cam so I figured the lobes would be good. I'll post a pic soon of the collapsed lifter.
At least it is not a whipped out cam lobe..... Hopefully that's the only one you have a problem with.....
