The glass on the sides are a little scratched up and also has tint that is too dark that needs to be removed.

Front windshield is scratched where winshield wipers go.

Anyone know where to get a replacement windshield that's in decent condition?

What about tint removal without scratching the glass?

Tint removal is not that hard. Use a single edge razor blade to gently lift the film at one corner. Then slowly peel it back. If you're lucky and work slowly it will come off in just a few large sheets. Once the film is off you can clean off the adhesive residue with some lacquer thinner and paper towels.

I don't know what kind of window tine you've removed, but I've never seen it come off that easy.

The best way to remove it is with a steamer. Of course you willed a razor blade to lift the edges, but don't use it for "scraping", as it will scratch the glass. Expect it to take as much as a half-hour per window on the side glass, and longer on the back glass.

I had the pleasure of removing tint once not an easy task, I used a heat gun trying to not heat the glass real hot and then used acetone to soften and remove the glue, the adhesive remover stuff works good also. I have heard about an eraser wheel that you mount to a drill for removing old decals but dont know if it would be safe to use on glass

I used an eraser wheel once on some decals on my new truck...:thumbs2:
I would think it being safe on clear coat that it shouldn't damage the glass.

I don't know what kind of tint it was either but, given the low quality of some of the other things that were done to this car by previous owners, I would guess it was pretty cheap.

But, trust me, it really did just peel off.

They make a tint that is a static stick type that is considerably thicker and is called peel and cling it really easy to take off perhaps that is what is on the car

Ah ok. I took it to a tint shop and they said to wait until a hot day came.
