Question about early dash trays

    I should know the answer to this one, but a long time ago, I adapted a glovebox dash to my 72 Comet, so my memory is a bit fuzzy. BTW, Don't try this... it is awful without swapping the upper dash, and the corners don't match up.

    I got to looking at my car, which has now been converted back to a dash tray. (THANKS 71Gold! ... you may not remember, but you sent me a nice one way back).

    Anyway, there is supposed to be a cover under the steering column that kind of nests inside the tray, right? Mine looks pretty naked when you look at it from the side right now.
