    Thanks for the info everyone. I went to picknpull today and got a volvo relay and looked for a taurus fan but didn't find one. There are a few more junkyards around and im hopeful. Thank you all!

    what year escorts work best? and they would use the same volvo relay/BMW switch set up as the taurus fan correct?

    The Taurus you want to get is a 93 3.8 it will need to be trimmed to fit and turned up side down

    92-95 3.8l Taurus fans should be all the same and are 2 speed. 91-2000 Escorts should be comparable in size but some are 2 speed and some single speed. 3 wires are the 2 speeds and 2 wires for the single speed.
    Make sure your charging system is up to task. The stock Maverick 40-55 amp alternators won't cut it.

    Thank you all for the information. I have the following. volvo relay, BMW switch and im headed tomorrow morning to pick-n-pull to search for an escort fan or a taurus fan. thanks again everyone! you are all always such a great help.
