After many wasted hours trying to fix my engine im calling it quits and looking for a drop in motor. I'm having trouble finding a reliable place to purchase one and was hoping I could get some help from everyone on here. I have a 1973 250ci 4.1l inline 6 and was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction. I know i probably wont find a new engine so a rebuild from a reliable place would work. Can anyone send me some links to places they've purchased an engine from?

Are you staying with a six or going to a V8? Now would be the time to change if you are thinking about maybe a 302

I want to stay with the 6. I think upgrading to a 302 would cost more wouldnt it?

Yes, it sure would cost quite a bit more to go V8. I bet someone else here could steer you in the right direction to buy a remanufactured 6 cyl. I am out in the west so the leads I have would be too spendy to ship it.

I dont mind if its a couple hundred to ship. I found a place in washington that said the shipping would be 200. As long as its within the budget I dont mind shipping cost

A 302 swap is worth the cost.

NAPA.........most of the auto parts stores sell engines at good prices and are guaranteed.....ur talking about a stock 6 cyl. don't make it harder than it has to be.......it's not like ur buying a balls to the wall 8000 rpm sbf

I think you will find a rebuilt 6 cyl is going to cost the same as a rebuilt 302.

I think your best bet is to find a good used motor.
