It will attempt to map whatever is in your location field.

So, if I understand this correctly if a person does not choose to put in a location then there will be none?

Sorry to be a pest Stefan but I just want to understand the new changes.

I have no problem giving a general location, i.e. City / State. I just don't care to change my user name.
I will freely state, for professional reasons, I have to use my real name on several forums for work. I have never been contacted outside of work, so most people respect others privacy. I have heard some scary stories about Facebook though. :-/

There was a thread some time ago and that was when I added my first name under my screen name, thought it was a great idea.

Does it really matter? If it was mandatory info how would you know it was truthful? After all, it is the Internet....

Exactly. It will be up to the member to optionally put in an accurate location.

    It doesn't.

I don't think it should be mandatory, the poster will just get the best response the more overall info on their location and vehicle they give.

Real names on any open forum is bad idea. Good intentions or not.

. Its a forum anyone can join. Not a closed group of acquaintances. I for one dont really like to share personal info on a forum. Glad we have the option. I never did have a location listed but I added one for you guys. ;)
