I kept the car for 11 years unadulterated and it looked as good as the day it rolled off the showroom floor. I let the car go as I entered a new chapter in my life's journey.

As I prepare for yet another chapter, I'm looking to re-create my old ride. I purchased this 1972 Comet Project Car, also shown. It has a 1985 5.0 roller c-4, 9" posi differential. I've just begun and started my quest to find parts. Planning to not do a full restoration, make it clean and recreate the old ride.

Any references to places to buy stuff other than ebay, CL greatly appreciated. I found Melvins and RPM so far.

Any Ideas where I can get Trunk Lid Torsion bars (only one came with car) - viewed the forums discussing Piston lifters.

Thanks for listening, while I get used to this.

2-door Mavericks only came with one torsion bar. 4-doors came with 2.

Welcome to the Maverick (and Comet) world.

Thanks' Craig, that's great information. The bar was sitting in the trunk when I got the car , looking at the 1972 Ford service manual most examples showed 2 bars, I assumed 2 bars (ASSumed!) I'l give the one a try and see if it holds it up!

    Thanks,
    George
