The local Ford dealer had a small display in their parts department with 6 different filters cut apart showing what was (or what wasn't) inside each one. Don't remember specific brands offhand, but seeing was believing. I've only bought Ford filters ever since.

After speaking with them on the phone I had asked what pressure they line test these oil filters at, I was told 90lbs was the test on the casing, it was also explained to me that there could have been a pinhole in it, if a foreign particle made it into the stamping process of the case and went undetected, they want me to try them again and give my feedback on it.

so you told them their filters were crap...they sent you a box of them to make up for their crappy filters...:slap:
I would have been more pleased with them sending me filters of another brand..:yup:.

I say atleast they did something I complained online to mountain mikes (I know its not the same) but never heard a word back from them
while others like incredible johns was on it they called me the next morning early and I complained late before going to bed
I think the company cares about there product and the people who buy them if they respond that quick and then try to make it right by sending you not one but a box of replacement products. even products that you had no issue with.
I would give them another try if it were me :thumbs2:

Did you send them the old filter back or did you cut it open for your own personal assessment?

They didn't want it back, she said it would do them no good to see it, the hole was probably cause by a small particle that got into the machine that stamps out the cases, I cut it open to see what I could see.

"You're wrong there, they have a ANTI-drain back valve(and AFAIK all have one, whether it functions is a different story)..."

Krazy Comet you are more right than I. I guess some of my knowledge is getting dated! Thanks for keeping me honest!

WIX, or NAPA GOLD ..( Which IS a WIX filter) are some of the Best we've found for our cars. Just my take on this
filter thing . I wouldn't use a Fram for a Door Stop...They used to be a great filter in the seventies .. then they turned
    the quality knob down ..

Wix is the filter I used on it before I put the stroker kit in it.
