Just bought a house in Charlotte, NC to be close to my son. Will be finally settled there in the next 30-60 days, I hope. Takes time to move all my stuff. Comet GT will be one of the cars going there. Any body live nearby?

    Jim,

My family lives right outside of Charlotte in Salisbury, about 35 miles from there. I go down there about twice a year to see them. Will be there in May and again in September this year. I real nice area, especially if you are into racing. Most of the Nascar race shops are located in Mooresville just out side of Charlotte along with the Z Max Dragway. Nice climate too. Not as warm as Florida, but still good. You do get the four seasons there though. Good luck with your move.

    Best wishes on your move:
Charlotte is a neat little town and the foliage is beautiful in the fall . I try to visit the mountains every year at that time.
Incidentally , I have some old photos of your Daughters '72 Maverick after it was totaled and the placards you prepared for
the NPD show if you're interested. I will do my best to forward them to you if you send me an email . My computer shills are lacking in some areas but I can find help with the sending if you'd like . My address is cameocarclub@yahoo.com .

I'm about 3 hours north in VA. I will be down at Lowes Motor Speedway next Saturday (4/11) with my uncle and dad for the Spring Auto Fair.

Jason and I had planned on going to the Auto Fair on the 11th. However, he had other plans so I agreed to meet my sister and brother-in-law in Ocala on their way back to Ky from their south Fl winter home. Maybe next time when I am settled in.

Jeff, My house in just off I-485 and the Harrisburg Rd( University City Blvd) and not far from Kannapolis. Let me know when you make the run with the Falcons. Is it a national event?

Allen, I am 5 miles from the Charlotte Motor Speedway. I am told by the neighbors you can hear the cars when there is a major event there. Maybe we can touch base when you are down visiting some time.

Looks like many of you are within striking distance of Charlotte. Sounds good.

Hi Jim,I`m up in Chesapeake Va. & get down that way once in a while.Keep an eye on Mooresville dragway, that is the home track for the Classic Gear Jammers, really pulls em in.If you want a good time,GO,you won`t be sorry you did.If you are into high rpm stick shift racing,THEY ARE THE SHOW.They run there 2 or 3 times a year.

It's a Regional meet held by the Carolina Chapter every other year. This years Regional is held by the Tennessee Valley Chapter. The NC and Tenn Chapters swap out each year holding this event. My sister lives 8 miles from Atlanta Motor Speedway...I live about 20 miles. She can hear the race and I can't. You should be able to hear the cars when racing. It will get quite during a caution flag.
